At least five people have been shot at a school in the city of \u00d6rebro, central Sweden, according to police who said the danger was not over. <\/p>\n

Swedish police said Tuesday an operation is \u201congoing\u201d at the center, warning of a \u201csuspected serious crime of violence.\u201d The shooting occurred at the Risbergska school for adults at a campus where other schools, including for children, are based. <\/p>\n

The public were urged to avoid the area and stay indoors, a statement said. It is unclear how many people have been injured, and police said no officers were shot. <\/p>\n

Sweden\u2019s Justice Minister Gunnar Str\u00f6mmer described the police operation as being \u201cin full swing\u201d on Tuesday. \u201cThe government is in close contact with the police, and is closely following developments,\u201d he told Swedish news agency TT, according to the Associated Press. <\/p>\n

Students are being transferred from schools next to the site of the shooting in \u00d6rebro, which lies 160 kilometers (100 miles) west of the Swedish capital, Stockholm. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe danger is not over,\u201d the police statement said. \u201cThe public MUST continue to stay away.\u201d <\/p>\n
