least 274 inmates have escaped from a prison in Nigeria\u2019s Borno state following heavy flooding, the Nigerian Correctional Service said Sunday.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cThe flood brought down the walls of the correctional facilities, including the medium security custodial center Maiduguri (MSCC) as well as the staff quarters in the city,\u201d the service spokesman Abubakar Umar said in a statement.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph-primary-core-light\" According to Umar, at least 281 inmates managed to escape while they were being transferred to \u201ca safe and secure facility\u201d and seven of them were recaptured later.    <\/p>\n<p data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Umar said that the service is aware of escapees\u2019 identities, including their biometrics and made this information
