data-article-gutter=\"true\">            These visits exposed her to the harsh realities of the country\u2019s healthcare system. \u201cI remember sitting in overcrowded waiting rooms, watching doctors stretched thin, unable to meet the needs of so many patients,\u201d Adewara recalls.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wlil2000b3b6mb6r97vvv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            This formative experience ignited her passion for transforming healthcare in Africa.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wlil2000c3b6maksyv228@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Growing up with a mother who worked as a nurse, Adewara\u2019s understanding of healthcare challenges deepened through her mother\u2019s stories.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wlil2000d3b6m99oosgv5@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cI knew early on that healthcare wasn\u2019t a privilege \u2014 it was a necessity, and I wanted to be part of changing the system,\u201d she explains. via digital health tools. Located primarily in Nigeria, these clinics are accessible to patients through various subscription plans, and are often financed through partnerships with global donor organizations and private donors.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wlil2000h3b6mf5ilcxd9@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            In addition to the clinics, Mobihealth has partnerships with over 200 hospitals, labs, and pharmacies, Adewara says.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm2ac41jj000t3b6mh8m06aek@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            The company has earned global recognition, including a $1 million grant from the US Trade and Development Agency in 2022. According to the World Health Organization, the region bears 25% of the global disease burden but has only 3% of the world\u2019s healthcare workers.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wq8sv000v3b6mlappz8qf@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cIn rural Africa, a trip to the nearest hospital can mean the difference between life and death,\u201d says Adewara.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wq8sv000w3b6mbym9x4nu@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Mobihealth\u2019s latest initiative offers healthcare for $1 a month for rural and underserved populations. It allows Africans in the diaspora \u2014 and global supporters \u2014 to sponsor essential services like doctor consultations, diagnostic tests and access to telemedicine clinics. The scheme is not solely based on donations; individuals can also subscribe to the service for themselves.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wq8sv000y3b6mgh4mwyvu@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cHealthcare systems across Africa are under immense pressure,\u201d Adewara explains. \u201cOur initiative is a direct response, using technology to connect rural patients with doctors thousands of miles away.\u201d    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wq8sv000z3b6md13l3y54@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            For Adewara, Mobihealth\u2019s telemedicine platform is not a temporary fix; it represents the future of healthcare in Africa.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wq8sv00103b6m9bvmqgur@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cThis is about creating a resilient, sustainable and inclusive system, where people, no matter where they are, can access the care they need,\u201d she says.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28wq8sv00113b6m5gib2upc@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cTelemedicine brings doctors to people, wherever they may be. By integrating AI and remote monitoring, we are improving the speed and accuracy of care, saving lives in the process,\u201d she adds.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm297g0wb000f3b6mfrnousg0@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            A number of African companies provide telemedicine services, but researchers have pointed out that there are obstacles that could hinder the growth of telemedicine in the continent. Rural areas can have an unreliable electricity supply and poor internet connectivity, and there is often a lack of government policies and funding around virtual healthcare.    <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subheader inline-placeholder\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/subheader\/instances\/cm24igm3c001d3b6m98pyx6y7@published\" data-component-name=\"subheader\" id=\"a-healthcare-system-for-the-future\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">        \u201cA healthcare system for the future\u201d<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28ws57o001m3b6mgiu6qfgx@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Adewara envisions scaling her company\u2019s model to reach millions more across Africa, particularly in countries like Ghana, Kenya and Ivory Coast.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28ws57o001n3b6m3ugeqlvx@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cOur work is just beginning,\u201d she says. \u201cWe are building a healthcare system for the future \u2014 one that is resilient, inclusive and capable of meeting Africa\u2019s growing population\u2019s needs.\u201d    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm28ws57o001o3b6mlthr0jf0@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            However, partnerships are crucial to achieving this vision. \u201cWe can\u2019t do this alone.
